Fermenter Accessories

Fermenter accessories are inexpensive necessities to put your bucket or carboy to use in fermentation and to keep them clean and sanitary. We also offer a large selection of closures (bungs and stoppers) and blow-off tubing listed in their own sections. Better bottles can be outfitted with several innovative products that make the brewer's life easier.

Fermenters are obviously a necessity for the hobby. If you purchase an equipment kit they come with fermenters. You can always add to and replace them as well. 1 gallon jugs work well for small batch experiments. Larger fermenters are available in glass and plastic. Glass is superior in many respects but it is heavier and comes at a slightly higher cost. Plastic is safe, easy to handle, and more economical. The classic bucket is cheap and effective while giving excellent access for cleaning. I don't recommend maturing wine or beer in a bucket as it's made from HDPE and does "breath" more than glass or PET carboys. All fermenters we carry are food grade and ready to safely hold your next batch of brew!

Better Bottles starting at $20.99 and glass carboys starting at $24.99.

Solid and drilled/gasketed lids are available for buckets. We also carry a large selection of stoppers and bungs for carboys and jugs.

PET Carboys
Be sure to take extra gentle care of your plastic carboys. They do scratch easier than glass and scratches can harbor bacteria and wild yeast. We carry special soft brushes to clean these (look for the red ones). Avoid tipping them onto their edge when full as over time stress cracks can result.
